In 2006 I Vow To:
1. Reach my goal weight
2. Get my tattoo
3. Get a new job
~~
I will have to say that this NYE was quite good. I have never been a huge celebrator of NYE, so I think this year may have been perfect. I started the weekend on Friday. I accomplished a lot.
1. Ordered my co-moh dress
2. Picked out new glasses frames
3. Picked up Paul's xmas gift
4. Picked up shelly's xmas gift
5. Picked up my Rx at CVS
6. Went to the gym
7. Window shopped
I would say that's a damn productive day. Oh, and I slept until 10 - so that was good too.
Dan and I went to Laurel for dinner- we were less than impressed. If I am going to drop $50 on dinner I expect that the server will ask me how the food is, if she/he could bring me anything else, if I'd like a dessert menu, or something above and beyond. At least the atmosphere was nice... And although it wasn't the best meal I'd ever had, it was okay. (Not $50 worth of okay).
Saturday Christian came! Yay! I was very excited when he finally arrived after making a wrong turn and ending up in Poughkeepsie, NY. We ate a quick bite at Uno's and headed over to Eastie to kick off the festivities with some Keg Miller-Lite. I nearly threw-up in my mouth at the taste of this gawd awful substance. It wasn't long before we cozied up to the bar at Elephant and Castle where Dana took very good care of us. Sunny showed up and the booze flowed smoothly. I ran into three kids I loved from high school! It was so good to see them, considering it's been five years! A nice surprise for NYE for sure. I got lots of hugs from them and although we didn't have long to talk and I was slightly inebriated, I still managed to give one of them my business card and told him to get in touch - and although he won't, I did make the effort.
After the stroke of midnight Dan headed back to Eastie and Christian and I stayed on a bit longer. I was glad the T was still running when we left the bar, and it was free! That was very good. I could only imagine the influx of people saying "Can I have one token, please." Tokens are going by the way-side anyway, and soon there will be nothing but cards! Thank god, I am sick of touching dirty tokens. Having T-hands is bad enough.
Sunday morning Christian and I headed up to Davis for some much needed food. The Rosebud provided us with a lovely assortment of omelets and carb-o-licious treats. I was glad we arrived when we did because the people behind has had to wait about twenty minutes longer than we did. Breakfast was delicious.
Characters of the weekend:
1. Teddy Rukspin: an older una-bomber looking guy wearing a bright neon orange hunting hat with one mini troll pinned to it, and one hairless troll (bear looking).
2. Mr. Dryell: From the waist up this coatless gentleman looked to be a tad chilly, but decently dressed... not until i glanced at his pantaloons did I noticed that he just took them out of a crumpled pile in the bottom of his closet after shrinking them in the dryer fourteen months earlier.
3. Fake fur coat with pink stretch pants and a hip pouch - 'nough said
Happy 2006 Everyone!~
