Mindless Meanderings of a Curly Haired Girl

It's got all the right elements: dark comedy, a great female lead, and a bizarre storyline.

I like rain

A quiet St. Patrick's Day landed me on Brian's couch watching a movie and sharing some Killian's. I have to admit, it was a much needed rest and decidedly the best idea Brian's ever had. Saturday morning up early to catch my bus to New Britain, CT to see my chick-friend Toni. I was bad and hadn't seen her new apartment yet, so I headed down for a brief overnight to hang out with her and enjoy some much needed relaxation with a girl who doesn't mind if I make a racist joke in between bites of girlscout cookie icecream. Delicious. It was really great to see her and I wish that she'd free herself from the bonds for CT and move to Boston so we can see more of each other - but the bus ride wasn't bad, and I'd be willing to do it again in the future.

There's nothing I like better than couching and eating icecream with my favorite blonde haired girly!

My Inner Child:

Your Inner Child Is Happy
You see life as simple, and simple is a very good thing.You're cheerful and upbeat, taking everything as it comes.And you decide not to worry, even when things look bad.You figure there's just so many great things to look forward to.

Thank you Gerry

Where the vale of Onondaga
Meets the eastern sky
Proudly stands our Alma Mater
On her hilltop high.
Flag we love! Orange!
Float for aye-
Old Syracuse, o'er thee,
Loyal be thy sons and daughters
To thy memory.
~~~~
Thank you Gerry for an amazing four years of Syracuse basketball. As a freshman you brought us a championship, and as a senior you brought us pride when we had none left. Your four years on the court will not soon be forgotten and we will always remember all the "overrated" Gerry McNamara, amazing game-winning three pointers. Thank you for carrying yourself like a true sportsman and never letting yourself get bigger than the game. Your legacy will live on and we will always be proud of you. Your poise under pressure has taught your team a great deal about patience and attitude. Your leadership will be greatly missed in the upcoming seasons and the team will be hard-pressed to groom another such athlete as you are. You are the embodiment of everything that bleeds Orange, and damn son, we're proud of you.
Sincerely,
Every Syracuse Fan, Alumni, Student, Past, Present, Future.
Reunited and it Feels so Good
And then there were three.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nothing has made me happier in the last four years than my three-way friendship with Jarad and Kenny. From the day we left the United States for Hong Kong the three of us have been insperable. Be it the bond of Hong Kong or just an unexplainable bond, the three of us have been sharing and caring about each other for a while now.

The coincidence of the Big East Tourney was a nice bonus to Jarad and Kenny's arrival in Boston. Thursday evening the boys rolled into town and we headed to the Burren. I knew Jarad would love the music and the three of us danced and got silly to many songs to which we knew all the words. The Swinging Johnsons were taking requests and scattered among the usual hits were a few random tunes that got us all dancing and happy... what cover band plays Black Betty? Dust in the Wind made me want to call Christian, but I refrained and sang along... 99 Red Balloons didn't last long because no one knew all the words, but it was fun none-the-less. Closing the night with More Than Words by Extreme was random, but fun. We stayed up late, talking about the old days and watching Syracuse highlights on ESPN. We crashed for the night to sleep in and head to Harvard to show Jarad all that Cambridge has to offer. Lunch at Cambridge Common was nice, and we all left with a full belly and a smile on our faces. From Harvard Square, we toured Boston, through the Holocaust Memorial, around through Fanieul Hall and back to Cheers to enjoy a beer (or icecream).

Back at 729 we watched and intense syracuse game while scarfing on Tacos Lupita... the pregame for The Harp was ridiculous. Did I really drink almost a whole bottle of wine? I think I did. And wait, whose pipe was that? Most of the kids came out to party - Dave, Aaron, Rich, Becka, Paul, Shelly - it was a good crew. The Harp was randomly playing almost all the same songs we had heard at the Burren the night before - but it was all good. We did some booty shaking and enjoyed ourselves.

Saturday we chilled on the stoop - and yes, I got a sunburn - yes, in March. My skin hadn't seen sun in MONTHS... and two hours on the stoop gave me a nice red burn to remember my weekend with the boys. Spirit was the bar of choice to watch Syracuse v. Pitt. A great game, a great victory - lots of G-mac highlights... and Dosoldorph played a great game too...

What a good time with my friends... I wish I could party with them all the time. Jarad was smitten with Boston and I am pretty sure I can get him back up here in the future! So that'll be a very good thing.

Some queer story

So at choir, I was bored because we were working a lot in sections - so during break i thought to myself "oh, a crossword puzzle would be nice" so I go downstairs... oh I forgot to mention that we rehearse in the Council for the Aging... kind of a senior center of sorts... so i go down to the lobby area and grab one of the free newspapers and check to see if there's a crossword puzzle in it. There is, so I rip out the page and bring it back to the rehearsal room with me. I start doing the puzzle - I have this baffling realization... all the clues are about sex and homosexuality... they're funny, but nearly every single one is somehow related to sex. I am sitting there working on the All Mozart All the Time Songs, but all I can picture is some blue haired, 75 year old woman, asking "what's a word for when you walk fagged out'" and some little man with thick rimmed glasses and a cane replying "how many letters."
